AFGHANISTAN is ready to sit with the international community in order to discuss matters for the common good.

However, the country's Acting Minister of Public Health Dr Qalandar Ibaad Jan said Afghanistan's internal matters should only be decided by the people of the nation.

"Countries should be allowed to choose their own pathway or government structure for the benefit of their communities.

"If you look at Afghanistan, over the past two years, there is peace in the country," said Dr Qalandar during an interview with Astro AWANI in the Agenda AWANI slot.

Also featured during the interview was Political Economy and International Relations analyst Herizal Hazri.

When asked why there is still hesitance in the international community to formally recognise the Afghanistan government, Dr Qalandar said the local interests of the people must be understood first before a meaningful relationship can be established.

"In Afghanistan, we have our own national interests, we are not letting anybody interfere in the national interests.

"You cannot interfere with our internal affairs. Of course, there are external affairs. That could be arranged. After that is established then you can come and sit with us and share your views about our internal affairs," he said.

Dr Qalandar added with time, the current Afghanistan government will prove that they will do right for everyone in Afghanistan, male or female, all according to the Islamic Law.
